One Nation, Indivisible

Our country is being attacked, from within and without. Yes, the statement is self-evident. As Americans, we must stand up for our nation, our Constitution, and for each other. It is our duty. Sadly, with the advent of Donald Trump, we could not be further from our Constitutional patriotic values. Our America changed in 2002 with George W. Bush's election. It became more polarized when we elected Barack Obama, our first black president. Then, with the advent of Donald Trump, 2016 became even more polarized and not for the better. The conservatives, Koch Brothers, Steve Bannon, Fox News, Breitbart, and their ilk seek to destroy everything we've built since our founding. That hate-mongering in this country is only getting worse. Gone are the days where patriotism counts, and where one man demands loyalty from everyone. I read conservative viewpoints and try to understand how they can incite so much hate and anger. We live in the wealthiest country in the world, so why are conservatives so anti helping each other? Take, for example, Ann Coulter. Does she ever say anything nice? If she does, I haven't heard it. How about Bill O'Reilly, who got fired from Fox News for allegedly harassing women sexually? Or Rush Limbaugh, who called women sluts because they want birth control? Are those people you want to follow? Does their rhetoric make you feel good? What is it going to take to end the polarization in this country? Can we effectively boycott Fox News, or at least get them to tell the truth? Will some lunatic take an AK-47 and mow down our Democrat representatives and senators? Will the hate for others grow so much in this country that we'll die from within our borders? We learned about Russia influencing our elections in 2016. Half the country is in denial about that, even though 17 intelligence agencies confirmed that fact. Today (February 2, 2020), we learn that the Director of National Intelligence says Russia is at it again. Instead of supporting American intelligence agencies, Trump fires people who tell the truth. He's done it over and over again, and the Republican Congress yawns and looks the other way. Even though the House of Representatives proved that Trump violated the Constitution, the Republicans don't care. Nixon had articles of impeachment against him for much less. As Americans, we must protect our sanctity and sovereignty. It's going to take tens of millions of us to stand up and say, "Enough!" We want the rule of law reestablished, and we want the corrupt attorney general fired. We need the judiciary to continue to stand separate from Congress and the White House. Can the Roberts court do that? Can John Roberts see what is happening and not play into Trump's demands of loyalty? If the Supreme Court backs Trump, I fear we are all doomed. There are some crucial cases headed to the Supreme Court that could upend everything we've stood for over the past 240 years. Is that what you want?
