Media Hypocrisy

I’ve said for years that the media got Donald Trump elected in 2016. In various ways, I called out all the major news organizations, including Fox, CNN, MSNBC, NBC News, ABC News, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Politico, The Hill, and various regional newspapers. Every headline after Trump announced his candidacy in 2015 was TRUMP THIS and TRUMP THAT. It was disgusting, to put it mildly. Hillary Clinton only received air time for her stupid emails. There was next to nothing about her accomplishments as First Lady, New York senator, or Secretary of State. There was also nothing about the good she would do for our country.
Sadly, the news organizations are doing the same thing today. They cannot, or will not, change their tune. I, for one, do not understand their obsession with the convicted, lying sexual predator. It boggles my mind.
Today, I was thrilled to read Robert Hubbell’s blog post “We’re not weird.” In his post, he points to MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell’s monologue from August 9, 2024. FINALLY! A media member is calling out their own where Trump is concerned. Mr. O’Donnell rightly says that the media is still giving precedence to a convicted felon while ignoring Kamala Harris’s campaign speech at the United Auto Workers (UAW) union meeting.
If you watch nothing else, watch O’Donnell’s monologue. It’s about time the media started confronting their role in getting Trump elected in 2016. Are the various news organizations listening? Probably not, but it’s a great start.
Mr. Hubbell says in his article:
“I guarantee that if you watch the segment, it will deepen your understanding of how the media enabled Trump’s initial rise and continued viability despite an attempted coup, inciting an insurrection, attempted bribery of Ukraine, refusal to return national defense documents, and two impeachments.”
So please watch the segment and understand how dysfunctional the media is when covering Donald Trump.
